11.30am          Tea, Coffee and Networking

12 noon           Update on Clinical Commissioning Groups as what the sector needs to do to prepare itself

12.30pm          Lunch and networking

1.30pm            Talk and tour of Green Age, a new care farm for older people

2.15pm            Tea, coffee and networking

2.30pm            Introduction to Animal Assisted Therapy- its principles and how they can be applied to the Care Farming environment- with case studies

3.30pm            Summary

Getting Customers and Funding for Care Farms

 

Wednesday 25th January 2012: Craven Arms Community Centre, Craven Arms, Shropshire. SY7 9PS.

This is ideal for those who are interested in care farming and who need to start working on the business side of things to get a sustainable business model in place.

  • Marketing and Promotion- low cost no cost ways to promote care farming opportunities and get paying clients – websites, social media, open days, leaflets and flyers etc
  • Writing funding bids and tenders
  • Getting ready to tender

Teaching Skills for Care Farming

Wednesday 15th February 2012: Fordhall Farm , Market Drayton, Shropshire.

Ideal for those who are running practical sessions to gain an insight into structuring the session, managing a group, health and safety, choosing and planning activities, managing challenging behaviour, maintaining  interest and otivating participants.

Course Time 10am-3.30pm. Course Cost: £31 including lunch

 

Care Farming Discussion Group

The Care Farming Discussion Group funded by Lantra West Midlands continues to meet monthly and brings together those in The West Midlands who are interested in Care Farming or already offer Care Farming opportunities. Each month about 20 people get together at one of the care farms in the region and have supper, network and discuss issues pertinent to their enterprise.
